neck and fo-head veins

I went to the Beşiktaş (pronounced Besh-ick-tash) soccer game on Sunday night with Jeremy, Daniel, and Saygin. It was soooo cool, exactly what I expected.

I cant even describe the intensity of the fans. In America we cheer, in Europe they scream. Screaming until their neck and fo-head veins pop out. They absolutely love their team. It was a little strange though. The crowd was led by a few "cheer leaders", and were chanting stuff 95% of the game. However, most the time it seemed like the crowd was more interested in looking away from the field to the cheerleaders. Kinda weird.

I've embedded a few videos for ya to get an idea of what it is like. Check out how awesome our seats were!!

this is a video of the start of the game. Pretty much puts our "War Eagle" chant to shame. Sorry about the shaky camera, it was CRAZY at the beginning.

this is a short clip of pretty much what I did all game. Boo everytime the other team got the ball hahaha

  1. WOW! That looked like so much fun! The thing is, I didn't see a single female. Are they not welcomed at soccer games? Well, the days are clicking down now. Do all the fun stuff while you can.

  2. That is some crazy stuff that looks totally awesome! Do you have any idea what they were saying?? It reminded me of when you played "indoor" soccer and christian's dad went totally insane all the time and would scream in spanish!! He, and the rest of that family, was crazy. Glad to see you had a good time! When Brent and I move you'll have to come up for some games! Cubs, Bears, and Bulls...oh my! love peace and Chicago grease!!!

  3. DO THEY HAVE EARTH DAY IN TURKEY?

Things ain't what they used to be
Where did all the blue sky go?
Poison is the wind that blows
From the north, east, south, and sea

Oil wasted on the oceans and upon our seas
    Fish full of mercury
Radiation in the ground and in the sky
Animals and birds who live nearby are dying

    What about this overcrowded land?
How much more abuse from man can you stand?
Almost every minute since the day of our birth
We continue to abuse our Mother Earth
