but the chicken pitas are cheap
lemme give you an example. I bought one of those small bags with the draw strings that I could wear on my back on the way to the gym on Thursday from the big Nike store here. That way I wouldn't have to carry my towel, water, keys, bus pass, ID, lock, and all that in my pockets. *see that, I made a decision to do something to make my life a little more simple...apparently they only make those type of decisions in America* So I get on the metro thursday evening, and I notice there is a huge rip in side of the bag that I didn't notice when I bought it. No biggie, "I'll just take it back" says the unweary student.
So today I went back to the Nike store to exchange it for a similar product that was entirely constructed this time. After being there for 30 minutes, talking to 8 (yes, 8) employees, using 2 computers, and sitting through 3 phone calls, I figured they were gonna give me a new one. Nope. Instead, they give me this slip. They are sending the bag off to get fixed, and I have to wait until next Friday to pick it up. I def asked them to just keep the bag when it gets back, and let me take one of the new ones on the shelf....not happening. I'm tellin ya, they TRY to make it hard here.
ok, I'm done venting....well not yet. It wont stop raining, it has rained all but about 12 hours the past 4 days and it is supposed to rain for the next 8 days. COME ON TURKEY. throw me a fricken bone.
ok, now I'm done.
bye :)
Going to be sunny and about 80 here. Getting ready to go to the Truck Race under the lights. Your bag probally got cut by someone trying to steal your stuff. Be aware of what and whos around you at all times. Turkey is known for its pick pockets.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a bad case of cabin fever and maybe a touch of car driving withdrawal. Hang in there Bud, there's always tomorrow. Maybe their meteorologist are like ours, have it all wrong and you'll wake up to sunshine. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah the weather here is so nice right now, I'm sorry that you aren't enjoying the same thing. Wow I don't care what store you go to over here, the employees never give you a problem about returning or exchanging anything! I have never heard of waiting to have the same item repaired and then picking it back up. That's really strange. Poor Chad. Hopefully not everything over there will be like that. I'm pretty sure that you have noticed that the backpack was ripped at the store so I wonder if someone tore your backpack? Your dad's right, watch those turkish theives.
ReplyDeleteAww bummer, I hope it wasn't too expensive.
ReplyDeleteYou know what I want? More pictures. The video blogs are pretty cool, but I'd like to see some more of Istambul. Just take your camera around down some narrow streets and around vendors and stuff. The good news about rain is that the contrast of your pictures should go way up due to everything being wet. I went to see The International tonight and the climactic finish of the movie takes place in ... wait for it ... Istambul! They were running around on the terra cotta rooftops and there was a scene in what I think was the Blue Mosque. It was pretty snazzy.
So yeah, use your weekend to take lots o' pictures.
